
March 9, 2010 -- The HandsOn Network is proud to announce that its 2010 partnership with the Walt Disney Co. has successfully concluded. As a result, one million people have been inspired to volunteer a day of service, and to celebrate their good works with a one day admission to either Walt Disney World Resort or Disneyland Resort - FREE! In our community alone, 4,208 volunteers connected with HandsOn Tampa Bay - with 3,077 volunteers completing over 200 projects hosted by 45 particpating organizations! What does the conclusion of Give A Day. Get A Disney Day mean? - One million volunteers have either completed their service - or - committed to volunteer.
- Opportunities that volunteers signed up for prior to the end of the program will still be held, and their service will be verified by the organization managing the volunteer opportunity.
NOTE: Even though the program has ended, individuals who have already signed up and officially committed to a specific activity through disneyparks.com before the program ended are still eligible for their voucher for a free Disney theme park ticket once their qualified volunteer service has been verified. - Volunteers can no longer search or sign up for new opportunities through www.DisneyParks.com and organizations can no longer enter new opportunities at the Disney site.
